I need to disable Safe mode in windows xp home?

My little brother starts my computer is safe mode and changes my password then logs into my account and uses my computer, but when i start up in safe mode and set a password and restart, when i go back to safe mode my password is gone, is there a way to disable windows from reseting my password or changing the key from f8 to something else? Thanks

  1. If you don't want him using your computer then best to set a start up password in the BIOS. He won't get past that one. Set a password he won't think of, both for entering BIOS setup and Start up. So a password must be entered to even boot the computer at all.
  2. Go into the BIOS and setup a BIOS Password. He won't be able to hack it. However don't you forget it or you will have to flash the BIOS and that is bad.
  3. no but you can do something like BIOS admin password. you can access this thru the bios setup but just be careful. This will prompt you a password upon booting so it will be tough. nobody can access the settings in windows or the BIOS itself without entering the password so its really good. just be careful not to mess around with the bios.
  4. first of all. you can't disable safe mode. second of all you can't change the f8 key to something else. 3rd of all. put a password on your Administrator account. you are a Account Administrator but you are not the Windows Administrator. Log on a Administrator, then create a password. then log back onto your user name and create a password. after that, there isn't any other way to use the computer without those 2 password.
