How do I restart my computer in safe mode?

I still cannot get an image file out of My document folder, so I am going to try to restart my computer in Safe Mode, but I can't figure out how. Can someone please give me step by step instructions on how to restart my computer with Windows XP Home Edition???

1. Restart and press F8 repeatedly until you get to safe mode. You'll get a screen that will ask if you want Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Networking, and there may be a third option. arrow key up. Select and press enter.
2. Restart your computer and when it starts to boot back up hit f8.
3. before windows load, keep pressing on F8 u will get the options page
4. you click restart mode, then u logg off all apps and then u remove all of the programs that are installed by control panal> addremove prgms> unintall all of the programs ... ur ready to go
5. Right after you restart the computer you'll see the brand name of the system very briefly appear...that's when you start pressing F8 over and over til you get to safe mode.
