On windows xp home edition can i remove software in safe mode?

I'm having problems with the new flash player. It shows to be on my computer but not working. So I have been trying to remove it but it won't let me. I went into safe mode but can't seem to get to the point that will let me remove any software. Please help if at all possible.

  1. Yes you can boot to safe mode to remove any software that might be conflicting with your operating system. I doubt that uninstall programs work correctly there though, so you will need to go to start > control panel > add or remove programs. Also while you are there, check to see if any other componants are listed that might not have shown up previously. Good Luck
  2. I think to uninstall flash player you have to download the uninstaller for your version of the flash player from adobe website. Or you have to manually delete its executables. If you search google with the keywords "Flash uninstall" you will be led to adobes links for the uninstaller software. http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_14157
