how a parent could monitor their children even when they are gone to office or when parent at home?

i just wondering if hiring a maid/nanny/babysitter could guarantee the safety of any children..but,nowadays some parents believe in using an electronic stuff to monitor their children can help them to look after their child..how can i know that the electrical stuff is safe for the children?so,which is the best way to monitor the children?

1. i have no idea how the electronic stuff works but its safer to have a personthere what happen if the child has an accident
2. we all as a society rely on technology way to much....electronics should not replace the care of an actual person. If you arent able to be with your child all the time (and come on what parent can) fidn someone you can trust, a friend with kids the same age, a family member, a nanny, whatever. A child really needs an adult around at all times. What if there is an accident, or they need something or what if what if..there are just way too many what ifs. I am one of a lucky few that can stay home with my children, but even i can't be there all the time. I would rather know that my childs needs are being took care of at all times by someone who cares about them.
